Virtual Camera Not Showing in Teams
Using OBS or Camo but Microsoft Teams won't show it as an option? This is due to Teams' strict "Certified Hardware" checks. Againly fixes this automatically by registering your virtual camera as a "Native Hardware" device in the Windows registry.
Why this happens
- Signature Check Fail: Teams V2 (New Teams) requires all drivers to be WHQL certified; some virtual cameras are not.
- 32-bit vs 64-bit: If your virtual camera is 32-bit and Teams is 64-bit, the "DirectShow" filter won't connect.
- App Manifest Lock: Teams often "bundles" its accepted hardware list during installation.
Fix it manually
- Reinstall Virtual Cam: Uninstall and reinstall OBS/Camo with "Admin Rights."
- Registry Override: (See our detailed guide for the
AllowUnsignedDWORD fix). - Use Teams Web: Join via browser as it often has fewer hardware restrictions than the app.
Fix it automatically with Againly
Againly injects the necessary hardware descriptors to ensure Teams treats your virtual camera like a high-end physical webcam.
